Friends of the Tattoo
The Canadian International Military Tattoo is dedicated to Connecting Canadians to Their Military through Music, at its annual production of the Tattoo at Copps Coliseum, Hamilton. We are only able to do this with the generous support of sponsors and Friends of the Tattoo. E-mail us to find out how you can become a Friend of the Tattoo.
Friends of the Tattoo is an organization of people who:
- Believe in the virtues of military service.
- Value the rich traditions of our Armed Forces and through their membership.
- Salute the achievements, service and sacrifice of veterans of Canada’s wars and peacekeeping operations, including the current generation of young men and women now serving Canada in some of the most dangerous places in the world.
Friends of the Tattoo are our ambassadors who help us meet our mandate to:
- Stage the annual production of the Tattoo, a stirring two hour show of military pageantry, music and dance, with over 450 performers, including massed military bands, pipe bands, dancers, drill teams, and displays.
- Educate through our school programme held on the Friday afternoon preceding the Tattoo, giving students the opportunity to see, hear, meet and interact with our performers. Last year, over 1,000 Hamilton students from two inner city public schools attended.
- Promote our programme by involvement with other community partners, including Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Military Family Resource Centre, and Tourism Hamilton.
- Support charitable organizations. Each year the Tattoo supports a named charity organization.
